Our story

BÔ KID is the first specialized pediatric optic center in the Middle East, established in 1999 by Dr. Nisrine Achkar, a pioneer in children’s eye care. Since its foundation, BÔ KID has been dedicated exclusively to pediatric vision health, offering a highly specialized environment designed to meet the unique visual needs of children. Our clinical team is composed of certified professionals who have completed extensive academic and hands on training programs, ensuring expert, evidence based care. In our pediatric clinic, children get to meet Dr. Ô, our friendly and lively puppet who turns every eye exam into a fun adventure. about Our Founder

Dr. Nisrine Achkar stands as a true pioneer in her field, being one of the very first optometrists in the Middle East to specialize in pediatric optometry. After earning her advanced degree in 1999, she went on to establish BÔ KID, the region’s first dedicated pediatric optometry clinic. Her vision, expertise, and early leadership in this specialty laid the foundation for a new standard of care, making her a respected figure in the world of children’s eye health across the Middle East.
